The Ministry of Defence has signed a ₹1,476 crore contract with Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL) for the procurement of five ground-based mobile electronic systems for the Indian Army.
The agreement was signed under the Buy (Indian–Indigenously Designed, Developed and Manufactured) category.
Boost to Surveillance and Networking Capabilities
The advanced mobile electronic systems are expected to significantly improve the Indian Army’s surveillance and communication infrastructure. These systems will enhance operational preparedness by strengthening battlefield awareness, electronic support capabilities and secure networking systems.
The Defence Ministry stated that the systems would help modernise Army units and improve operational efficiency in diverse terrains and strategic environments.
