• Veteran Malayalam actor and director E A Rajendran has passed away at 71 after a prolonged illness in Pattathanam, Kollam.
  • In recent times, the actor had undergone a visible physical transformation.
  • He had recently lost a lot of weight nd in an earlier interview he had mentioned that he had deliberately lost weight as per doctor’s advice to manage his sugar levels.
  • E.A. Rajendran, who made a name for himself with notable roles across films and television serials, was also deeply rooted in theatre.
  • Rajendran began his film journey with Greeshmam in 1981 and later re-established himself on screen after a hiatus with Kaliyattam, directed by Jayaraj.
  • Over the years, he went on to play a wide range of roles—particularly as a villain and character actor—in around sixty films, including Pranayavarnamgal, Pattabhishekam, and Daya.
  • He is the brother-in-law of actor and MLA Mukesh.
