In a significant step towards modernising India’s logistics ecosystem, NICDC Logistics Data Services Limited (NLDSL) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Government of Maharashtra to digitise and streamline logistics operations in the state.
The collaboration aims to leverage the Unified Logistics Interface Platform (ULIP) to enhance efficiency, transparency, and coordination across the logistics value chain.
Objective of the MoU
The key goal of this partnership is to:
- Improve logistics efficiency through real-time data insights
- Enable seamless coordination among multiple state departments
- Support better decision-making using digital tools
- Boost competitiveness of Maharashtra’s logistics sector
This initiative aligns with India’s broader vision of “Viksit Bharat”.
Role of ULIP
ULIP acts as a unified digital gateway for logistics data integration.
Key Features:
- Connects 45 systems across 11 central ministries/departments
- Offers access through 137 APIs
- Covers over 2,000 data fields
- Supports 240+ applications
- Has enabled over 300 crore API transactions
ULIP helps in:
- Real-time tracking
- Data sharing across platforms
- Reducing inefficiencies and delays
Focus on MSMEs and Exporters
A major focus of the initiative is to support:
- MSMEs (Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises)
- Small exporters
By improving logistics visibility and reducing bottlenecks, the platform aims to make supply chains more cost-effective and reliable.

During the ULIP workshop, several NLDSL initiatives were demonstrated:
- Logistics Data Bank (LDB) – Container tracking system
- Koyla Shakti Dashboard – Smart coal logistics analytics
- Track Your Transport – Real-time tracking solution
- Transport Management System (TMS) – End-to-end logistics management
These platforms highlight how digitalisation can transform logistics operations.
Institutional Framework
The initiative is being led by National Industrial Corridor Development Corporation (NICDC), which is driving India’s industrial infrastructure development.
