What Is the Bhu Bharati Portal?

Bhu Bharathi is the official Integrated Land Records Management System (ILRMS) of Telangana, serving as the definitive successor to the Dharani portal. Operating under the Telangana Bhu Bharathi (Record of Rights in Land) Act, 2025, it provides a streamlined, GIS-mapped interface for Bhudhaar identification, ROR 1-B records, and secure land mutations.

If you own land anywhere in Telangana — a paddy field, an urban plot, or an inherited property — Bhu Bharati is now the single digital authority over your land’s identity, history, and legal status.

Key Features of the Bhu Bharati Portal:

  1. Simplified Interface — From 33 Modules to Just 6

  • The portal (bhubharati.telangana.gov.in) is designed for ease of use, reducing the previous 33 complex modules to just six simplified service modules.
  •  This alone makes the system dramatically more accessible for farmers and first-time users.

   2. AI-Powered Chatbot ‘Bhu Mitra’

  • Bhu Bharati offers several citizen-centric features, including a user-friendly interface, an AI-powered chatbot ‘Bhu Mitra’ for assistance, and modules for appeals and revisions to correct land records.

   3. Real-Time Accessibility

  • Investors, policymakers, and farmers alike can access crucial records with the click of a button at any time, from any place.

   4. SMS Alerts and Automated Notices

  • The system also generates automated notices for updates and provides support through helpdesks, FAQs, and user manuals.

   5. Full Transparency — No Hidden Records

  • Previously, there was an option to hide land records.
  • Now, that option has been removed, and all the information is visible to anyone accessing the portal, which provides greater transparency in land management.

  6. Two-Tier Grievance Redressal

  • Bhu Bharati offers a two-tier grievance redressal mechanism. Tier 1: File complaints with the RDO. Tier 2: Escalate unresolved issues to the District Collector.
  • Under Section 15(8) of the Act, the government also provides free legal services for underprivileged farmers facing land disputes.
