In a major boost to Indian sports, Union Minister for Youth Affairs and Sports Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya officially felicitated the Indian contingent for the Commonwealth Games (CWG) 2026 at a special ceremony in New Delhi. Recognizing the exceptional dedication and victories of the country’s top athletes, the Ministry announced substantial cash rewards to honor their achievements on the international stage.
The felicitation ceremony brought together India’s finest sports stars, coaches, and key officials from the Sports Authority of India (SAI) and the Indian Olympic Association (IOA).
Massive Cash Rewards for CWG 2026 Medallists
To celebrate the country’s rising dominance in multisport events, the Government of India rolled out a structured cash reward policy for all medal winners:

Gold Medallists: Awarded a cash prize of ₹30 Lakh.

Silver Medallists: Honoured with ₹20 Lakh.

Bronze Medallists: Received ₹10 Lakh.
In addition to individual podium finishers, team event winners and performance coaches were also recognized with special financial incentives to reward the support ecosystem behind every medal.

Speaking at the event, Sports Minister Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya reaffirmed the government’s commitment to elevating India into a global sporting powerhouse ahead of the 2036 Olympic bid.
“Our athletes have shown extraordinary grit, discipline, and talent at CWG 2026. These cash rewards are a token of the nation’s gratitude for their tireless efforts in bringing glory to the Indian Tricolour. Under the Target Olympic Podium Scheme (TOPS) and Khelo India, we will continue providing world-class infrastructure, training, and financial security to our champions.”
Star performers, including weightlifting champion Mirabai Chanu and top shooters, expressed their appreciation for the continuous support provided by the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports.
