The Ministry of Labour and Employment has signed Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) with Porter and Gigin Technologies to create large-scale job opportunities in the logistics sector.

The initiative aims to expand employment and strengthen digital job matching through the National Career Service (NCS) portal.

Focus on Job Creation

Under the agreement:

  • Porter plans to generate around 6 lakh job opportunities annually through the NCS platform
  • It aims to create up to 30 lakh jobs by 2030

Gigin Technologies will:

  • Facilitate 2–3 lakh verified job opportunities every year
  • Enable over 1.5 lakh employer connections

The company will use advanced technologies such as artificial intelligence and verification systems to ensure authentic job matching.

Role of NCS Portal

The National Career Service portal acts as a one-stop platform for job seekers.

Current highlights:

  • 7 lakh+ active job vacancies
  • Nearly 59 lakh registered establishments
  • Over 6 crore registered jobseekers
  • More than 9 crore vacancies mobilised since launch

The portal is also integrated with platforms like e-Migrate, SIDH, and My Bharat, making it more effective and wide-reaching.

Government’s Perspective

Union Labour Minister Mansukh Mandaviya stated that the NCS portal has become an effective tool for connecting youth with suitable job opportunities.

He also emphasized the need for soft skills training to bridge the skill gap among job seekers.

Labour Secretary Vandana Gurnani highlighted that this collaboration will create sustained and dignified employment opportunities across the country.
