  • The Central Government has launched the BHAVYA (Bharat Audyogik Vikas Yojna) Scheme, a large-scale initiative aimed at developing 100 industrial parks across the country to strengthen India’s manufacturing ecosystem and attract fresh investments.
  • Union Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal announced the scheme on May 23 during a press briefing, describing it as a major step toward improving ease of doing business and accelerating industrial growth in India.

₹33,660 Crore Allocated for the Scheme

  • The BHAVYA scheme has been launched with a financial outlay of ₹33,660 crore. The government plans to create modern industrial hubs equipped with plug-and-play infrastructure, allowing industries to begin operations quickly without major setup delays.
  • The industrial parks will be developed in collaboration with state governments and are expected to become key manufacturing and investment destinations.
  • The scheme had already received approval from the Union Cabinet around two months ago and is now moving into the implementation phase.

Focus on Manufacturing and Investment Growth

  • The initiative is aimed at boosting domestic manufacturing, improving industrial infrastructure, generating employment opportunities, and increasing private sector investments.
  • The government believes that ready-to-use industrial parks with essential facilities and connectivity will help attract both domestic and foreign investors.
  • The scheme is also expected to support India’s long-term vision of becoming a global manufacturing hub under initiatives such as Make in India and Atmanirbhar Bharat.

Rollout to Begin in Phases

  • The government has planned a phased rollout for the industrial parks under the BHAVYA scheme.
  • In the first phase, 20 industrial parks will be launched within the next two months.
  • Another 30 parks are expected to be announced in the following two months.
  • The remaining parks will be developed gradually across different parts of the country.

Aim to Strengthen India’s Industrial Ecosystem

  • The BHAVYA scheme is expected to improve logistics, infrastructure, and industrial connectivity while helping businesses reduce operational costs and setup time.
  • By developing modern industrial clusters nationwide, the government aims to promote balanced regional development and create stronger manufacturing supply chains across India.
