The Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports has announced the Tenzing Norgay National Adventure Awards (TNNAA) 2024, recognising four individuals for outstanding achievements and contributions to adventure activities.

The awardees are Baljeet Kaur and Skalzang Rigzin in the Land Adventure category, Rimo Saha in Water Adventure and Shiv Prasad Chamoli for Lifetime Achievement.

The awards recognise qualities such as courage, endurance, discipline, risk-taking, teamwork and quick decision-making in challenging situations.

President Droupadi Murmu will confer the awards at Rashtrapati Bhavan, alongside the National Sports Awards 2025. The exact date of the ceremony will be announced separately.

The Government approved the four awardees following recommendations from the National Selection Committee, which evaluated and scrutinised the nominations before recommending the recipients.

How Much Prize Money Will the Winners Get?

Each Tenzing Norgay National Adventure Award 2024 recipient will receive:

• 🏆 Statuette
• 📜 Certificate
• 💰 ₹15 lakh award money

What Is the Tenzing Norgay National Adventure Award?

The Tenzing Norgay National Adventure Award is India’s national honour recognising exceptional achievements in adventure activities.

The award is designed not only to celebrate individual achievements but also to encourage young people to participate in adventure activities.

The award honours Tenzing Norgay, the legendary mountaineer associated with the historic ascent of Mount Everest in 1953 alongside Sir Edmund Hillary.
