  • Jammu and Kashmir became only the tenth team in the 92-year history of the Ranji Trophy to win the title in their maiden final appearance.

  • In the inaugural 1934–35 season, Bombay, led by Laxmidas Purshottamdas Jai, lifted the first Ranji Trophy title by defeating Northern India.
