India Semiconductor Mission launches Investors Support portal for semiconductor investmentsThe India Semiconductor Mission has unveiled the “Investors Support” portal to facilitate investments and accelerate semiconductor manufacturing and electronics ecosystem development in India.

The India Semiconductor Mission under the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) has launched a new online platform titled “Investors Support” to strengthen investor confidence and facilitate investments in India’s semiconductor sector.

The portal was officially launched on May 26, 2026, and is accessible through the official ISM website.

Objective of the Portal

The newly launched portal aims to provide comprehensive support to investors interested in investing in India’s semiconductor manufacturing and design ecosystem.

It has been designed as a single-window digital interface to help investors access important information related to:

  • Government schemes and incentives
  • Policies under the Semicon India Programme
  • Approved semiconductor projects
  • Regulatory and compliance requirements
  • Investment facilitation support

Progress Under Semicon India Programme

The Government of India has been actively promoting a resilient, trusted, and sustainable semiconductor ecosystem through various policy initiatives.

Under the Semicon India Programme, the government has so far approved:

  • 12 fabrication and packaging projects
  • 24 semiconductor design projects

These initiatives are aimed at reducing India’s dependence on semiconductor imports and strengthening domestic chip manufacturing capabilities.

Grievance Redressal and Investor Assistance

A major feature of the “Investors Support” portal is its grievance redressal mechanism.

Investors will be able to:

  • Register grievances and concerns online
  • Seek clarification regarding policies and approvals
  • Track resolution of issues in a time-bound manner

The concerns raised by investors will be addressed by officials of the India Semiconductor Mission in coordination with nodal officers from:

  • Central Ministries and Departments
  • State Governments
  • Approved project companies
  • Industry associations and trade bodies

Secure Role-Based Coordination System

The portal offers a secure and role-based coordination mechanism that enables smooth communication among all stakeholders involved in semiconductor investments.

This digital framework is expected to improve transparency, faster decision-making, and efficient resolution of investor concerns.

Step Towards Making India a Global Semiconductor Hub

The launch of the “Investors Support” portal reflects the government’s broader vision of transforming India into a global semiconductor and electronics manufacturing hub by improving ease of doing business and attracting large-scale investments in the sector.
