Indian Men’s Team Clinches U-18 Asia Cup Title
- The Indian Men’s U-18 Hockey Team emerged as champions after defeating hosts Japan 4-1 in the final played at Kakamigahara, Japan.
- India dominated the contest from the start, with Ashish Tani Purti producing a sensational hat-trick. He scored in the 2nd, 28th and 34th minutes, while captain Ketan Kushwaha added another goal in the 30th minute. Japan’s only goal came through Numada Gaku in the 52nd minute.
- The victory showcased India’s superior teamwork, attacking strength and tactical discipline throughout the tournament.
Indian Women’s Team Wins Bronze Medal
- The Indian Women’s U-18 Hockey Team finished its campaign on a high by defeating South Korea 3-0 in the bronze medal match.
- Sandeepa Kumari opened the scoring in the 2nd minute, followed by a goal from captain Sweety Kujur in the 16th minute.
- Nousheen Naz sealed the victory with a goal in the 33rd minute.
- The bronze medal capped a strong tournament for the Indian women’s team, which impressed with its attacking flair and defensive resilience.
- The team scored an impressive 36 goals during the competition.

- ₹3 lakh for each player
- ₹1.5 lakh for each support staff member
