The Central Government has appointed senior IAS officer Nidhi Chhibber as the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of NITI Aayog following the completion of B V R Subrahmanyam’s extended tenure on February 24, 2026.
According to an official order issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT), Chhibber will hold additional charge of the CEO post until a regular appointment is made or further orders are issued.
About Nidhi Chhibber:
A 1994-batch IAS officer of the Chhattisgarh cadre.
- Currently serving as Director General of the Development Monitoring and Evaluation Office (DMEO) under NITI Aayog.
- She oversees outcome-based monitoring and evaluation of flagship government schemes.
- Her appointment ensures administrative continuity at the policy body.
About BVR Subrahmanyam’s Tenure:
- A 1987-batch IAS officer (Retired) of the Chhattisgarh cadre.
- Appointed CEO of NITI Aayog on February 20, 2023.
- Initially appointed for two years (till February 24, 2025).
- Granted a one-year extension, which ended on February 24, 2026.
