The National Industrial Corridor Development Corporation (NICDC) will anchor the implementation of the ambitious BHAVYA scheme, aimed at developing 100 world-class plug-and-play industrial parks across India.
The initiative is being rolled out under the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT), Ministry of Commerce and Industry, as part of the broader National Industrial Corridor Development Programme (NICDP).
Boosting Ease of Doing Business
Under the BHAVYA scheme, NICDC will develop industrial parks with:
-
Pre-approved land parcels
-
Ready-to-use infrastructure
-
Integrated services for industries
These parks will feature single-window clearance systems, ensuring faster approvals and reducing delays for businesses looking to set up manufacturing units.
The plug-and-play model will allow companies to begin operations quickly without the usual hurdles of land acquisition and infrastructure development.
Aligned with PM GatiShakti Vision
The project is aligned with the PM GatiShakti National Master Plan, focusing on:
-
Multimodal connectivity (road, rail, logistics)
-
Efficient last-mile access
-
Integrated infrastructure planning
The parks will also include underground utility systems and modern infrastructure to ensure uninterrupted industrial operations.
Building on NICDC’s Experience
NICDC has already established itself as a key player in industrial infrastructure development. It is currently implementing:
-
20 projects across 13 states
-
Development of greenfield industrial smart cities
-
Role as Project Management Agency for 7 PM MITRA Parks under the Ministry of Textiles
These initiatives aim to enhance manufacturing competitiveness, attract investments, and generate employment opportunities.
Successful Industrial Nodes
Several NICDC-developed industrial nodes have shown strong progress, including:
-
Dholera
-
Shendra-Bidkin
-
Vikram Udyogpuri
-
Greater Noida
These hubs have emerged as investor-ready ecosystems, attracting both MSMEs and large-scale manufacturers.
Key Features of Industrial Smart Cities
The industrial smart cities being developed by NICDC include:
-
Plug-and-play infrastructure
-
Seamless multimodal connectivity
-
Integrated industrial and urban planning
-
Digital systems for monitoring and service delivery
-
Sustainable features like green energy and water reuse
Such features are designed to create efficient, future-ready industrial ecosystems.
Driving India’s Manufacturing Growth
The BHAVYA scheme builds on NICDC’s proven model of industrial development and aims to expand infrastructure across regions in a balanced and sustainable manner.
By enabling faster project execution, attracting global investments, and supporting MSMEs, the initiative is expected to significantly strengthen India’s manufacturing ecosystem and contribute to long-term economic growth.
