UK Honours Tata Group Chairman N. Chandrasekaran with Knighthood -

N. Chandrasekaran, Chairman of the Tata Group, has been conferred the prestigious honorary Knight Commander of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire (KBE) by the United Kingdom.
An honorary KBE is one of the UK’s highest civilian honours, awarded to foreign nationals in recognition of their outstanding contributions at the global level, particularly in areas such as business, leadership, and international relations.
The award was presented on behalf of King Charles III at a special ceremony held at the British High Commissioner’s residence in New Delhi, in the presence of Chandrasekaran’s family, friends, and dignitaries.

What Does “Honorary” Mean?

Since N. Chandrasekaran is not a British citizen, the knighthood is classified as honorary.

This means:

He can’t use the title “Sir.”
However, he is entitled to use the post-nominal letters “KBE” after his name
