India concluded its campaign at the World Boxing Futures Cup 2026 in Bangkok with an impressive medal haul of five medals — one gold, three silver, and one bronze. The performance highlighted the growing strength of India’s youth boxing programme and its ability to compete with top international talent.
Chandrika Pujari Wins Gold
The standout performance for India came from Chandrika Pujari, who delivered a dominant performance in the women’s 51 kg category. She defeated Mardonova Nazokat of Uzbekistan by a unanimous decision in the final, securing India’s only gold medal at the tournament.
Three Silver Medals for India
India also won three silver medals, with its boxers finishing as runners-up in their respective weight categories.

Gunjan (48 kg) lost her final bout to an opponent from United Kingdom by a 5–0 decision.

Joyshree Devi (54 kg) fought strongly but lost 4–1 against a boxer from the United States.

In the men’s 50 kg division, L. Ambekar Meetei also secured silver after losing the final to a competitor from Ukraine.
Bronze for Radhamani Longjam
Another medal for India came from Radhamani Longjam, who won bronze in the 57 kg category. Her campaign ended in the semifinals after a closely contested bout against Yevanhelina Petruk of Ukraine.
Tournament Significance
The tournament was held from March 8 to 15, 2026, and featured competitions in the Youth Olympic weight divisions for Under-19 athletes. The event was attended by Gennadiy Golovkin and Ajay Singh.
