The Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) has partnered with Google to display authorised Aadhaar centres on Google Maps, aiming to enhance accessibility and convenience for residents across the country.
Under this initiative, residents will soon be able to locate their nearest verified Aadhaar centres through Google Maps and view the services available at each location. These services include adult enrolment, child enrolment, and updates related to address and mobile numbers.
The platform will also provide important details such as centre operating hours, accessibility features including divyang-friendly infrastructure, and availability of parking facilities, wherever applicable. The rollout of this feature is expected in the coming months.
According to UIDAI, the collaboration is designed to curb misinformation and ensure seamless access to more than 60,000 Aadhaar centres nationwide, including Aadhaar Seva Kendras. Only authorised and verified centres will be listed on Google Maps, ensuring reliability and authenticity for users.
UIDAI Chief Executive Officer Bhuvnesh Kumar stated that the initiative aligns with the authority’s commitment to improving ease of living for Aadhaar number holders by making it simpler and more transparent to locate authorised service centres.
In the next phase of the partnership, UIDAI will leverage Google Business Profile to manage centre information and directly respond to public feedback. This step aims to further enhance transparency and improve service responsiveness.
The collaboration will also explore the possibility of enabling direct appointment bookings through the Google Maps interface, allowing residents to schedule visits more efficiently.
Google India noted that the partnership will help people find trusted government services with greater confidence, bridging the gap between essential digital infrastructure and public access.
Overall, the initiative represents another step toward leveraging digital platforms to strengthen citizen-centric service delivery across India.
